When the discerning angler wants a slightly shorter light specimen rod, Greys discovered the majority of current designs had rather pokey actions and surprisingly heavy test curves. In order to fill this gap in the market, Greys developed the Prodigy TX 11ft Specimen, a 1lb test curve rod, which offers a much more forgiving action. This is coupled with a lightweight nature and top quality components at a very competitive price! This delightful rod can be applied to a wealth of applications, including stalking big fish in the margins, free lining, float fishing, legering, feeder fishing, spinning and light carp tactics...the list is endless! It's also perfect for confined swims, travelling light, roving and a host of other situations. The forgiving through action allows tackle to be scaled down when fish are proving tricky to tempt, while the high modulus carbon blank and braid friendly SIC line guides can equally cope with presenting stepped up lines and larger hooks. These high modulus, optimum performance specimen rods are fitted out with full sets of hard wearing SIC line guides and offer a popular range of lighter test curves. The two-piece 12ft blanks are finished in an unobtrusive matt grey, with quality cork handles and secure screw locking reel seats. They also feature discreet graphics, hinged hook keeper rings and etched butt caps - all hallmarks of Greys dedication to superior quality.

PRODIGY TX SPECIMEN 1.25lb
This 1.25lb test curve 12ft specimen rod is perfect for big fish river and lake fishing. It has a lightweight, well-balanced nature and will comfortably perform like a traditional Avon design when trotting big floats or touch legering. Also featuring super crisp casting power, this classy rod readily covers light stillwater carp methods, being capable of casting good distances with medium sized leads or various types of feeders.

PRODIGY TX SPECIMEN 1.50lb
Stepping up a gear, this 1.50lb test curve 12ft Specimen rod offers increased casting and fish playing power, while remaining amazingly lightweight and responsive. It will make a great light carp rod on smaller venues, eliminating hook pulls with its forgiving action. The Greys Prodigy TX 13ft Specialist Float Rod has been designed for targeting big fish and big catches. Normally rods of this ilk are branded as "Carp" or "Power" models, but this stepped up blank is more versatile than that! It can handle commercial carp into double figures, big tench and bream from stillwaters, also hard fighting river species like chub and barbel. High modulus carbon floats rods of this quality are usually expensive, but Greys have achieved a very competitive price - without compromising on quality in any way!

This long and powerful feeder rod is geared up for big chucks, whether fishing wide rivers or huge stillwaters. It’s capable of launching any type of feeder tackle very accurately, thanks to its positive, progressive action. It’s a tricky job building brute power into a method feeder rod, while trying to maintain a blank that can absorb strong lunges from big fish as they near the landing net, to avoid the hook pulling free. Confined swims often dictate using shorter rods, but such places shouldn’t be ignored because they invariably hold lots of fish, including proper rod benders! However, being anglers ourselves, we at Greys understand that purchasers of our rods might want to expand on their usage. Because G-Tec Carbon Quivertips are interchangeable throughout the whole range of G-Tec rods, extra indicators can be added to those supplied with them, expanding the choice of test curves even more.

With 0.5oz, 0.75oz, 1oz, 2oz, 3oz, 4oz, 5oz and 6oz quivertips available, there’s something to suit every method and situation.

Knowing you can buy replacement quivertips without too much fuss is reassuring anyway, because no matter how careful you are, super sensitive bite indicators do get broken occasionally.

Greys G-Tec 15 Foot Float rod has been designed with big rivers, deep stillwaters and long range casting in mind.
