The Horizon Distance Spod rod builds on the exceptional pedigree of our Horizon range to produce a blank that will cast the largest of spods as far as is physically possible. In testing this rod has cast a fully loaded TB1 spod weighing over 7ozs in excess of 140 yards.

This is a specialist tool and is best suited to anglers casting spods with a loaded weight in excess of 4½ozs – smaller, lighter spods simply don’t compress the blank enough to get the best out of it. The Method Master is a powerful rod built unashamedly for this punishing style of fishing. To cast a heavy feeder, a rod needs not the fast taper action associated with distance rods (fast taper rods tend to reduce distance and often cause the groundbait ball to break up in flight) but a progressive action with plenty of reserve power in the butt. In order to absorb the shock of the cast and to achieve maximum compression, the Method Master bends progressively through the powerful blank. The action termed progressive power; allows the rod to cast huge distances without the risk of breakage. Because bait rockets and slim style spods are lighter and more dynamically shaped than bigger spods, the Rocket Rod has been designed with a faster, crisper action. The faster taper allows the more aerodynamic mini spods and rockets to achieve maximum distance. The twelve-foot blank is constructed from high modulus carbon, carefully selected and wrapped to achieve rapid compression. The blank delivers optimum performance with spods and rockets up to 150grm in weight, though it has latitude to handle slightly heavier payloads if necessary.

Built on a carbon blank, this Marker Rod features a fast tip action that is designed to send marker floats to their target area with minimum fuss. The blended carbon used to construct the blank has excellent transmission characteristics to convey vibrations back through the blank when the rod is used for leading around. Because fish playing characteristics are very important, the blank has been chosen to flex in the top one third very quickly so that the marker powers away to its target.
