The FMJ ( Full Metal Jacket ) is a radical design and now proven beyond doubt. Based on a parallel butt only ½" in diameter with a sophisticated variable action - called Gearbox Design that enables casts at huge range and a sweet playing action. The design is based on the selective blend of several types of carbon fibre, overwapped in chevron ballistic nylon and fused together in the crucible of the AutoClave. In conjunction with Mark Hutchinson - one of the leading casters and anglers in UK and a Century consultant - the NG Spod rod is a new generation of no compromise tools, developed with performance in mind. Autoclaved - to retain the rod's action and performance that continuous and dedicated spodding requires - the NG Spod is useful and practical investment. Uncut carbon finish.

This reel fitting is precision turned, drilled and milled in UK on a 5-axis CNC machine centre from 303-grade stainless steel. It adds style, substance and balance. It has to be one of the most desirable rod options available and will last for years. Century rods are built for the long haul and the investment in this creative piece of engineering will be reflected over time when wear and tear on a standard reel seat will inevitably show. The SS20 is set on a special carbon arbour and then secured to the rod via a further set of internal arbours. Hard fighting fish test all equipment to the limit and SS20 anchors your reel beyond doubt.
